Celebrations

CURATED FROM PLATFORM CELEBRATING SOLO FORJOE

Ophelia Okaikoi: One minute Solowiro was alive and active posting articles on WhatsApp, and within a twinkle of an eye πŸ‘️ gone. Like a flash. Gone with the πŸ’¨ wind.
RIP πŸ™πŸ½πŸŒΉ

Thomas Chinery: RIP brother Solo Wiro. Had the pleasure of your company in March over beers at Ghana Club. Potash et al thanks for organizing and celebrating our dear brother. Cheers and stay blessed.

Thomas Odamtten: Our dear Bro, Ataa Solo. The last time we met was at Michael’s funeral last year when we had a good time. It is sad to lose you now. Oh, my Bro 😎 Abeokuta I was getting ready with the Islay Scottish 100 % for our usual, but God knows best. We will meet again!!! Insh’ Allah… Chao to all the Guys May your soul RIP. Our condolences to the family. Shalom.

Charles “Akot” Kotey: Thanks Papa and Andrew for streamlining the process. Solo deserves it. Some of us are yet to take it in. We’ve lost a gem of a friend never to be replaced. A big vacuum has been created but we rest in the assurance that Solo lived life to the fullest and gone to a good place. May he RIPP till we all meet again.

Ofori Torto: I know Solo we shall meet again but it does not take away the fact that you are. missed. Count me in on anything that will bless your posterity. I remember the meat pies we enjoyed at your mum's kiosk in North Kaneshie. Great memories ❤️πŸ™

Edwin Korankye: Abeiku ... from the 70s in CTKS to adulthood, you remained the same. No mincing of words, great sense of humor, bright spongy brain, keen listener, sharp intellect, cool understated elegance, a good judge of character, and loyal to the course of freedom and of rights. Total progressive and yet pragmatic. Abeiku words cannot describe your impact on us all. We, in fact, I will miss u forever. In recent years, it was comforting to know you found your true calling, and in the end, that's all that matters. As you sleep, I am safe in the knowledge that one day, when the Lord shall come, we will meet again. What a joy it would be to see you again. So, until then, rest peacefully.

Seth “Calico” Abbey: We will never be left out in celebrating the fond and loving memories of “King Sollozo” The Soloweero. Always in the company of Derek, Niki Bones and Nii Amanor aka As a King, one associated the Weero more with Motown than a MOBA… He had the same spirit of a Bleobi, and we claim him as a true born Bleobi just like Potash and Mr. Bones. No wonder he was always an overwhelming and positive presence in the “ Eclectic cradle of Sam B’s Room 6” no wonder he was always the toast of drink ups in the palatial residence of Bleobi AS A KING… no wonder memories of his easy friendship and memorable anecdotes will stay forever with us… Solo the Weero, King Sollozo we stand in the shadows of Nee Amanor and all your Bleobii crew to bid you.. FAREWELL… rest peacefully till we meet again.

Nathan Mintah: Solowiro, my senior, and Jerry Gallas' buddy, may the good Lord grant you rest in divine peace and harmony!! My brother, God bless your soul for all eternity!! πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½
I still laugh and chuckle when I recall some of Jerry and Solo's antics - interesting charactersπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

George Kofi Acolatse: From Temasco through to Legon and beyond, Soloweero had been a buddy buddy. Time and space hardly affected our camaraderie. So, till we meet again may he rest in perfect peace.

Nii Baidoo: I’m happy finally the link has been established. In all this the Commonwealth Hall Vandal link was conspicuously missing. Solo had his group there as well: Okamoto, Frenche, Kenny T, Bray, Kweku Binee, Kodzo Bright, Gavua and others.

Ivor Heward-Mills: We go back a long way from primary school days when you lived by the Ridge roundabout. I used to be in your house almost every other day as your older brother of blessed memory, Arikpo, was my best friend. You were always the cheeky little brother trying to interfere in our business. You grew into a man known for your smart intellect. You experienced a lot of things, but you never failed to amaze me with your knowledge and interpretation of life in general especially where politics was concerned. You were called to Glory so suddenly which was hard to take by your family and friends, but we are comforted that you accepted the Lord in your life, and we know that you have been granted a place in Paradise.
Rest in perfect peace my brother until we meet again. πŸ™πŸΎ❤️πŸ™πŸΎ

Niki Bentsi-Enchill: Paralysis was the state I was in for a few days when at dawn, Abeiku’s death silenced the silent dawn. I met Solo about 40 years ago through mutual friends Derek Obuobi and the late Yaw Duke Twum-Barima. The thing that struck me most was his intellect and his play on words. Solomon was a vivacious character he had a sense of humor which at various times could be described as wicked, blunt, or just plain humorous. He was witty, erudite, and eloquent. He embraced life positively even when there were storms in his way. He was the life of any gathering. He had faith in the almighty and cherished his moments with the Lord. He will definitely be sorely missed. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Nana Addo Obuobi: We celebrate the life of my incredible uncle Abeiku who could brighten any room with his infectious laughter and boundless knowledge. He was like having a walking encyclopedia on speed dial, and he never hesitated to share his wisdom with us. He was a die-hard Manchester United fan, and he defended them in banter like a knight in shining armor. No matter how the team performed, he stood by them with unwavering loyalty. I'll miss the good-natured teasing and heated discussions about the ups and downs of his beloved club.
He played a unique and wonderful role in our family, making us laugh until our sides hurt, and always keeping us on our toes with his trivia. So, here's to a life well-lived, full of knowledge, laughter, and a love for Man U that was second to none. Rest in peace, Uncle Abeiku. Your humor and love for the game will forever bring a smile to our faces.

Aisha Ayensu (nee Obuobi): My Uncle Abeiku, for as long as I can remember you’ve always been there; birthdays, weddings, Christmas lunches, christenings … You were a class act and I love that about you. You’d voice your opinion without mincing words; the one amongst the group to voice what everyone else was thinking but too diplomatic to say; the one who could vex one minute with “the boys” and be over it in a split second πŸ˜‚. As I grew older I came to appreciate you even more, the clean Uncle Abeiku. It took courage and strength of will and I admire you for that. We will miss your warmth, your smile and the spark you brought to our home.
Ps: Thank you for embracing Michael 10yrs ago (when Uncle Nikki was giving him “tough time”) πŸ˜‰
Last Call: I can still hear you saying “Enzio Bonati, Longtime friend of Gino Santangelo” and “Chief Nelson of Tabon!” 😜
Love Always
Aisha
